Dr. Doug Erickson is a Diplomate of the American Board of Prosthodontics. He received his DDS degree at the University of Minnesota, and his graduate prosthodontic training through the United States Air Force prosthodontic training program at Wilford Hall Medical Center and the University of Texas Health Sciences Medical Center San Antonio, Texas.
Dr. Erickson served 10 years as a commissioned officer in the United States Air Force, achieving the rank of Lt. Col., prior to establishing a full-time prosthodontic practice in Duluth, Minnesota. While in the Air Force, Dr. Erickson served as an educator and dental laboratory manager to over 60 enlisted dental laboratory technicians. He was also instrumental in developing and installing the Air Force Stereolithography laboratory in 1995 – perhaps making Wilford Hall the first medical center in the world to have its own Stereolithography machine to support the many surgical specialties at Wilford Hall.

Dr. Erickson has been involved with the use of the Surgicase and Simplant software since the mid-1990s when he helped to beta test the original SurgiGuides for dental implant placement. He is also an active member of the American Academy of Restorative dentistry, the American College of Prosthodontics, the American College of Dentists, the International Academy of Gnathology, the American Dental Association, and the Minnesota Dental Association.
Dr. Erickson served as a past president of the Northeastern District Dental Society and is currently on the program committee for the International Academy of Gnathology. He was also past program chair and president of the Minnesota Academy of Gnathological Research.
Dr. Erickson is currently in a private full time prosthodontic practice in Duluth, Minnesota. He is married to Nancy with whom they have a daughter Sarah. Dr. Erickson in his off time enjoys skiing, biking, photography, ham radio, gardening, and hiking with his dog MacGyver.
